Dear Supporter,

My position in our Limerick office is the Support Groups Co-ordinator. We have a lot of generous Support Groups around Ireland and thanks to the generous support we receive from them every year we are successful in helping struggling families in the development world to improve their circumstances through the gift of livestock.

Support groups are organised and managed by their members, usually volunteers that take time out of their busy schedules to offer their support to third World countries.

You can support Bóthar while having fun and keeping fit at the same time by taking part in any sponsored event. Here is just an example of a few fundraising events that you may be interested in organising and also taking part in, for example, organising a coffee morning in aid of Bóthar, supermarket packing collection, a sponsored run, table quiz, etc, the list is endless. Remember that original ideas create interest.

I can provide general support to our groups by distributing literature from our office that may be useful in addition to setting up an event. I can also help to keep our valued supporters up to date through regular newsletters and updates.

Support groups are a great way to get the community personally involved and to also raise awareness for Bóthar. If you are thinking about setting up a support group in your area, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

I can be contacted via telephone on 061-414142
or e-mail on lynsey@bothar.ie
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Bóthar and Mycharity.ie

Are you of the computer age? Have you a circle of cyber, business or personal contacts who you communicate with on a regular basis. Would you like to support the work of Bóthar? Maybe you dislike the thought of raising funds in the conventional way?

If you take on a fundraising event on behalf of Bóthar you can combine all the above and achieve your goal… and all from behind your desk!

Bóthar is one of the charities registered with Mycharity.ie. Using the Bóthar fundraising page on their web site, you can collect funds in a secure yet novel way. You can monitor your progress and all funds are passed on monthly to Bóthar.

The Fundraising Projects Office at Bóthar is delighted to be able to provide this fundraising option in facilitation of its many supporters.

Mycharity.ie is dedicated to providing services to charities and fundraisers alike to make it as easy, simple and safe as possible to raise money for charity.

Raising money through Mycharity.ie is a very cost effective way for charities to fundraise. Mycharity.ie provides fundraisers with a unique way to publicise their fundraising efforts to their family, relatives, friends and colleagues.

Fundraisers can customise their page to their own liking and their page allows them to fundraise for charity without the need for keeping lists of sponsors, collecting and checking money, writing cheques etc. Everything happens online in a safe and secure environment.

Mycharity.ie are always delighted to hear from anyone who has any questions in relation to Mycharity.ie or fundraising in general, so please do not hesitate to contact them using the following details: You can call Mycharity.ie on: 01-2185737. If you are a fundraiser, donor or have a general query you can e-mail them at: userhelpdesk@mycharity.ie

Organising an Event
If you are going to the trouble of organising an event for us we will be happy to supply leaflets, posters and videos that give information about our projects. Furthermore if you would like a representative to attend and give a short talk or accept the proceeds we will be delighted to oblige. Simply contact our Limerick office in advance.
Local Press
Press coverage is invaluable to Bóthar. Sometimes local papers will send a journalist and/or photographer to cover an event, if notified in advance. Alternatively papers will often print articles that are submitted to them, especially if they are of local interest and are accompanied by a standard size photograph along with caption information. Send copies rather than originals.
